Pepper Ann Inspired Nails

Hello!! I'm excited to share today's post with you! I did these nails the other day and just couldn't wait to post them so I decided to just put them up now!!!!
As you may know from my 90's Nickelodeon nail art series, back in 2011, I love cartoons! While thinking of some nail art ideas a few months ago I thought of doing Pepper Ann nails! I used to love watching Pepper Ann every Saturday morning and I still remember speed walking home to watch Pepper Ann after school in 9th grade lol!! Plus the theme song is permanently embedded in my brain :)

I found this picture on Google and used it as a reference when painting

When I plan a nail design out I draw it on paper first and then pick my colors. These nails had been drawn out for months now and this Saturday I gathered up all my colors and sat down to paint!
These are the nails I ended up painting:

On the thumb I painted the show title. Milo, one of Pepper Ann's best friends, is on my index nail. Pepper Ann is on my middle nail. Her other best friend Nicky is on my ring nail. Moose, Pepper Ann's sister, is on my pinky.

I'm so happy with how these turned out!!! They took longer than I expected and for a while I didn't think they were looking too good but everything came together in the end. I love them so much!
Doing these nails has reminded me of how much I've been wanting to get back to challenging myself. They just give me so many more ideas I want to try. Hopefully it doesn't take months before I can get around to working on them :)

I hope you liked this post and check back soon!

Color Changing Nails

Hi Hi!! I have a cool thermal polish to show you!! I love thermal polish and I'm so glad that indie polish companies are coming out with great ones for my to buy! The polish I want to show you today is called A Vampire A Day Keeps the Vampires Away and it's by Glitter Daze.

A Vampire A Day Keeps the Vampires Away is a white to red thermal polish.
In the photo above I put 2 nails in cold water to show the difference. When your nails are warm the polish is white and when they're cold it turns red!

I love this polish alone but I knew it'd look great with a bit of a design on it. So I used black and white striping polishes to add a little extra. In the photo above you can see how the polish looks like a gradient! It's so cool when you can see both colors on the same nail. If my nails were longer the white and red would always be visible at the same time.

In the photo above I decided to dip my nails in warm water and get a picture of the design and the polish all white. Then in the photo below I dipped my nails in cold water to get a picture of the polish all red.

I love that with just one thermal polish and a simple design I got 3 different looks!
It's just so fun to mess around with thermal polishes. I have a couple more I want to try out too!
Thanks for checking this post out an I hope you check back soon!

Chirality Polish: Soska

Hello! Today I want to show you one of the prettiest black holographic polishes I've ever worn. It's called Soska and bought it from Chirality Polish

Sabrina's Nail Blog Chirality Polish Soska black holographic

Soska is a black linear holo and it's just so pretty. I originally ordered it because I came across it on tumblr. Jen and Silvia Soska, who are twins and filmmakers, made one of my favorite movies called American Mary! I saw them make a post about it and when I saw the polish was a holo I had to buy it!! When I ordered it I saw on the site that it was made by Chirality Polish in collaboration with the Soska sisters so it made the polish even cooler!

It's just an awesome polish! I love how I could see the holo indoors and it was even better in the sunlight. The polish applied great and I only needed 2 coats. I've already worn it a couple times and don't think I'll ever not love it.

My camera had a bit of trouble capturing all the holo goodness that Soska is but I still managed to get some good ones to show you. I just had to include the blurry photo below because it just looked cool! Plus you can see all those rainbows!

I love Soska so much! I would really recommend it to anyone that's been looking for a great black holo,  it won't disappoint!
I hope you liked this post and check out Chirality Polish if you liked this polish!!

Burgundy Sparkle

Hello!! I have these simple but pretty nails to show you today :)
I was going to a birthday party and decided to paint my nails a similar color to the sweater I was wearing. I had also recently bought new Milani textured polishes and I wanted to try one out. I picked out a pretty deep burgundy color and a sparkly light gold and just sponged them on. I wasn't too sure about how it'd turn out but I ended up loving it!

What made the whole design pretty, in my opinion, was that the burgundy polish was a flat cream color while the gold was shimmery. It just looked pretty when they blended together. I love doing sponge gradients with textured polishes because it's way easier than with normal polish. It also dries fast and doesn't need any topcoat to look nice.

I hope you liked these gradient nails as much as I did! Thank you for stopping by!

Nail Fails 2

This year, on January 19th, I'll be starting the fourth year of my nail art blog!!! I really didn't know if I would actually continue for this long but I'm glad I did! So as my first post of this year I'd like to do a second nail fails lol! I haven't one since 2011 and I have a few designs that just didn't work out.

First up is this weird color combo. I think I was just playing around and ended up with this ugliness :/ Why I took pictures and saved them I'll never know lol!

Sabrina's Nail Blog Nail Fails

These nails were done using nail foils and then I stamped over them. They're a fail because the stamping polish smeared and ruined everything.

These nails were really cute until I stamped those purple lightning blots. I didn't get the full stamp on and I just felt they weren't pretty enough for their own post.

Christmas nails gone wrong. I was trying to do a glitter gradient but I just didn't like it at all. Maybe the colors I chose or there wasn't enough glitter. I don't know but they never got posted.

Sabrina's Nail Blog Nail Fails

I tried doing lightning nails once! They didn't turnout the way I imagined they would. Plus they got smeared lol!

Sabrina's Nail Blog Nail Fails

A failed water marble is something that happens nearly every time I try doing one. This was my first attempt for a Halloween water marble I did last year. These were just messy and faded looking. A complete fail!

Sabrina's Nail Blog Nail Fails

These nails weren't a fail based on design. I failed to get a good enough picture :( I also just wasn't sure if they were nice enough for their own post.

Sabrina's Nail Blog Nail Fails

For the last fail I have these 2 pictures for you. I did two different designs on each hand. I did a black french with a moon accent in the top picture and the bottom was an attempt at a ruffian. They both failed for sloppiness and just being too sheer. The glitter just wasn't enough and the black had some sheer parts too.

That's all! I know I've had more nail fails but these were the only pictures I could find for now.
I'm excited to start another year of blogging! I hope to have lots of new ideas and inspiration this year and I hope that you'll stick around :)
